EQUIPPING INDIGENOUS MISSIONARIES
A PLAN TO REACH TENS OF THOUSANDS of UNREACHED AND UNENGAGED PEOPLE OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS.
Bansipal is one of the 40 church planters we were privileged to equip this past year.
OVMP is privileged to partner with a global network of indigenous pastors and leaders committed to raising up worshipers of Jesus Christ among some of the most unreached people groups.
PIERCING THE DARKNESS BY PLANTING CHURCHES
More than 80 percent of India’s massive population of 1.3 billion people is Hindu. In the midst of this darkness, there is a small but courageous remnant of Christian believers whose lives have been transformed by Christ. This army of Christ followers has been called of God to carry the gospel to India’s masses.
It is an honor to stand shoulder to shoulder with some of these amazing heroes of the faith. Men like Bansipal, below, who have been jailed and beaten on several occasions for the sake of the gospel. Although some of the abuse has resulted in severe hearing loss, Bansipal is undeterred. He cheerfully continues to win souls and plant churches!
OUR GOAL: SUPPORT MORE INDIGENOUS MISSIONARIES
Our goal is to increase our support from 40 to 80 indigenous missionaries in India. On average, an indigenous Indian missionary will plant four new churches a year, resulting in 25 people per church accepting Christ personally and being baptized!
Over the next five years, by supporting an additional 40 Indian missionaries a year, we could see, by God’s grace, this investment yielding 100,000 new believers.
A PLAN TO FUND OUR MISSION
In 2017, we would like to equip 40 additional indigenous pastors in India to plant more than 300 churches and see thousands of people impacted for Christ. And we’re excited to announce a monthly donor initiative to help fund this mission, along with other One Voice Mission ministries.
Our goal for 2017 is to see at least 300 of our stewardship partners pray with us and invest $35 per month to help OVM change the world through this very special outreach in India, as well as other OVM partnerships abroad. Become a One Voice Mission Partner and be part of reaching 100,000 souls for Christ and His Kingdom.
Type 35 in the box below and hit the GO button. Fill in your information in the secure form below and join with us in reaching those who have not heard the gospel, raising up worshipers of Christ around the world!
What is One Voice Mission (OVM)?
One Voice Mission (OVM) is an events-based ministry founded in 1981 in Colorado Springs, CO. OVM sponsors Christ centered events to encourage the body of Christ in North America and supports the indigenous missions movement in India. In 2016 One Voice Mission sponsored 12 events in Colorado.
OVM’s flagship event is the annual One Voice Word and Worship Conference held the last full week of June each year in Colorado Springs, CO. We just celebrated our 36th conference, June 26-30, at the facilities of Focus on the Family with over 3000 in combined attendance.
Additionally, OVM sponsors the One Voice Concert Series...ticketed concerts in Colorado Springs and North Denver. We began this concert series in 2015 and have since sponsored concerts with comedian Ken Davis, Keith and Kristyn Getty, Mark Lowry and Cana's Voice, Steve Green, the Annie Moses Band and Signature Sound.
OVM also sponsors the spring and fall One Voice Hymn Sings in Colorado Springs and North Denver and the One Voice Carol Sing held in December in Colorado Springs. These hymn sings feature the new One Voice Hymnal, a curated treasure of the most loved hymns and gospel songs of yesterday and today.
One Voice Mission events also serve as a platform for inviting people to join our One Voice Mission Partners (OVMP) initiative to support indigenous missionaries in India. Why India? With 1.3 billion population, and 400 million who have never heard of Jesus Christ India is the most unreached nation on earth.
In 2016 OVMP supported 40 indigenous Indian missionaries in central and northern India whose combined efforts produced over 150 churches planted and some 4000 new followers of Christ. To God be the Glory! Our goal is to be supporting 200 indigenous Indian missionaries by 2020 and see 100,000 souls become followers of Jesus.
Who leads One Voice Mission?
One Voice Mission is led by a Board of Directors and by Executive Director Johnny Hall. Johnny has had an extensive career in gospel music. He has served as a ministry leader, Bible teacher, and global mission spokesperson. Upon the passing of its founder in 2010, OVM’s board appointed Johnny to lead the ministry. Johnny and his wife, Teri, have three sons and live in Alpharetta, GA.
What is the relationship between OVM and One Voice Mission Partner (OVMP)?
One Voice Mission Partners, launched in early 2016, is a donor/prayer support arm of OVM, the goal of which is to engage U.S. partners with OVM’s outreach, both internationally and in the U.S. OVMP’s first focus is supporting indigenous church planters in rural villages across central and northern India.
Why does OVMP work with indigenous missionaries rather than sending U.S. missionaries?
OVMP is supportive of sending U.S. missionaries but recognizes that the most effective missionary is the one who is the closest related to the people needing to be reached. The indigenous missionary needs no language or cultural training and can go immediately to places inaccessible to foreign missionaries. They are also the most cost-effective workers.
Does One Voice Mission work in other places?
Yes, in addition to our church-planting work in India, One Voice Mission is involved with indigenous missions in west Africa, north Africa, Egypt, and the Middle East. In 2015 we funded the translation of audio recordings of the four gospels into the language of the unengaged Nubian people of Upper Egypt. This is the first time in history as far as we know that the 2 million Nubian people are hearing the gospel in their native language. In northern Iraq, One Voice Mission partnered with indigenous church planters working among Syrian and Iraqi refugees to build Praise Chapel in the city of Duhok. Praise Chapel is the first church facility to be wholly owned by an evangelical congregation in the heart of this predominantly Muslim region.
Why is OVMP focusing on church planting in India?
One-fourth of the world’s unreached people live in India. India is home to over 400 million people who have never heard the name of Jesus, making India the most unreached nation on earth.
Can I sponsor a specific indigenous missionary?
At this time OVMP does not have the infrastructure in place for our partners to support specific church planters. All donations are used to be most effective and where most needed.
Can I travel to India and see this ministry firsthand?
Yes, we travel to India once a year but because of our desire to leave a small western footprint we have limited our travel to small teams. If you are interested, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What does my monthly $35 investment accomplish?
Your investment helps to cover the living expenses, travel, and ministry resources of our indigenous church planters in India. In addition, a portion of your giving helps to underwrite One Voice Mission’s outreach in the United States.
Are my gifts tax-deductible?
Yes, One Voice Mission is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
One-fourth of the world’s unreached live in India. India is home to over 400 million people who have never heard the name of Jesus—making India the most unreached nation on earth.
One Voice Mission Partners’ indigenous church planters are going into India’s remote villages to share the love of Jesus. The impact of a church planter’s ministry is far reaching and long lasting. Whole families and communities are being set free through the truth of the gospel, as Jesus transforms entire villages!
Prayer is the first and most critical step in reaching people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
There is a strong connection between the victory of God and our prayers. Our battle is against the principalities of darkness, and these battles are won through the prayers of God’s people. This same power is available to all who believe, whether a minimum-wage worker or the most powerful of world leaders.
Here are Key Prayer Needs.
1. Pray for Leaders in India
Since May 2014, India has been governed by a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As a result, radical Hinduism, which was already present under the previous government, has increased steadily. While intolerance has risen, and minorities are constantly attacked, the central government has refused to speak out against the atrocities—thus further encouraging the radical Hindus to step up their actions. Attacks on Christians in India were reported on an almost daily basis in 2015, according to a Christian advocacy group. History reveals that the church has always had its most significant growth during times of persecution.
2. Pray for One Voice Mission Partners’ indigenous missionaries
3. Pray for their families
4. Pray for their marriages
5. Pray for open hearts and minds as they minister
6. Pray they will be godly, effective leaders
7. Pray that God will keep them single-minded and focused
8. Pray that God would pierce the darkness of idolatry in India
9. Pray that God would raise up more givers and more prayer warriors for these church planters
